A lot of sign-up scams are not in the name of goldmine management or goldmining companies, but instead in the names of sign ups who want to access goldmine properties.
The scam artists pretend to be from a legitimate goldmine company, promising to provide them with all the required permissions, and to provide a gold mine licence number and address.
After the sign up, the scammer will use the licence number to get access to the property and a licence fee, along with the goldmine account details.
The scammers also offer free or cheap tours and offer discounts to goldmine owners.
Some scams are more insidious.
They may even ask for cash, and use the stolen money to buy jewellery and other items.
